Its taken me a while to write this review as I wanted to give the game a fair run. And to be fair, the underlying game is good and has sufficient depth to keep you going. But, and its a big but, the graphics are terrible. For an iphone game to compete, graphics are important. Were not in the 90s anymore, and while this game may have its roots there, the developers needs to realise they are just that, roots, and not the substance of the app. There is no room for nostalgia in this cut throat arena.
That said, the actual game is absorbing. With control over ships in your fleet, cargo, destinations and budget, there is a lot to keep you involved and if you need more, there is the actual steering of the ship to manage as well.
So, will I continue to play it? Yes but truth be told, Im not sure for how long. It could be such a good game but the experience is so poor. With other high quality games now appearing at similar prices, this one fails, badly, in the main raison detre for iphone gaming.
